James W. Watkins
MD, FAAP

He attended public schools in Ranger, Texas, where his father was the local GP, and then Austin College in Sherman, Texas. His MD is from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and he did his pediatric residency there also.

He fly fishes and plays several musical instruments. He and his wife, Margaret, have three daughters: Chafen Hart, the oldest, is also a pediatrician and practices sleep medicine at the National Asthma Hospital in Denver; Louisa, who like her mother is a Presbyterian minister in Kentucky, and Meg who is an administrator with Care International, the global relief agency.
