Quick Links
Walk-In Clinic
Our Sick Walk-In Clinic is offered to all established patients, Monday-Saturday from 8:00am-9:00am. If your child wakes up sick, our available nurse practitioners and doctors are ready! No appointment is needed—just stop by during clinic hours for quick evaluation and care.
Same Day Sick Appointments
We know how stressful it is when your child is sick, and we are here to help. Our phones are answered Monday through Saturday at 8:00am. If you need an appointment that day, your child will be seen. We will try to schedule you with your doctor. Occasionally there will be times when your doctor is not available and we will schedule an appointment with another doctor or the nurse practitioner. Once all our regular appointments are filled (until 4:30) our on call doctor stays late to ensure that all sick children are seen.
Well Child Visits
We follow the schedule of well child visits as recommend by the American Academy of Pediatrics. During these visits we will be monitoring your child’s development, answer questions and discuss any concerns, and administer immunizations. You can visit our section on what to expect as your child grows for more information.
Newborn Hospital Visits
After deciding if one of our doctors is right for your child, one of our doctors will come and visit your child daily after any hospitalization (including birth) at Presbyterian of Dallas through the date of discharge. If your child is admitted to NICU or ICU, then hospital policy dictates that your child’s care will be managed by the NICU or ICU staff, and our doctors will not necessarily visit on a daily basis.
Lactation Consultant
First-time parents who are breastfeeding are scheduled to see one of our lactation consultants. Lactation consultants are trained to help mothers with a variety of issues surrounding breastfeeding, including latching difficulties, painful nursing, low milk production, or inadequate weight gain. They can help women meet their nursing goals when they are faced with special challenges such as returning to work or school. You may wish to seek their advice about breastfeeding equipment (such as breast pumps) and additional supplies that might be helpful to you as a nursing mother.
OB Consults
We openly welcome you to schedule an appointment with one of our doctors in an effort to find the right pediatrician for your child. With that appointment you will have a personal consultation as well a walk-through of our facility.
Advice Nurse
As a patient within our practice, we offer a phone triage service to give medical advice as well as to help you decide if an appointment is necessary for your child. This service is available during normal business hours (8:00-4:30). However, if a phone call is necessary after business hours we also have an after-hours phone call service to a registered nurse in order to assist you and notify the on-call doctor if deemed necessary.
Referrals
When a referral to a specialist is recommended by one of our doctors for your child, our Referral Coordinator will assist you in getting an appointment made and provide any chart notes or insurance information needed prior to that appointment. Contact us via email at referrals@pod.pcc.com.
Management of Chronic Conditions
Our staff will help your family deal with the management of a chronic illness or condition. Your doctor will oversee your child’s care with any specialist or therapist. Our referral coordinator will help schedule the initial appointment and send over any lab results or chart notes that they may require. She will also check with your insurance company to make sure all paperwork is complete. Contact us via email at referrals@pod.pcc.com.
ADHD Nurse Specialist
Our ADHD nurse will help our patients’ parents clinically and support them emotionally with answers to all their questions and concerns. We work directly with your child’s pediatrician to find the right treatment over time, help to manage prescriptions, and ensure your child has the accommodations they need.
